I attended my first yoga class in fall 2004 at USC. It was very challenging. Down Dog app was the extent of my home practice which was sporadic. I was that person making lists and thinking about what else I had to do during savasana, if I stayed for it, instead of being fully present. During a transitional time in Spring 2024, I started practicing yoga everyday at a local studio. It began as a means to improve my physical wellbeing. I quickly realized yoga is so much more than just exercise. The asana practice helped strengthen my body and calm my mind. My mental and spiritual outlooks improved. I started regularly attending classes at Pink Lotus Yoga Center in August 2024. I was fortunate to participate in 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training May-November 2025. The goal at that point was to deepen my practice, uncertain if teaching would be in my future. The "kula" was so welcoming and powerful. I knew I was in the right place with amazing people at the perfect time. In an effort to fully embrace the concept of "lila" and keep the positive momentum going, I completed Swing Yoga Teacher Training in March 2026. With the encouragement and guidance of many strong, talented, and vibrant teachers, I taught my first public yoga class at the end of April 2026. At the age of 40, I feel like my yoga journey is just beginning. I'm lucky to have it in my life. I'm excited to share this healing practice with others. Everyone deserves to enjoy the challenge and peace yoga provides. I was fortunate to participate in 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with them May-November 2025.
